SiteSucker
The SiteSucker screen can be used to download a site. It shows you the current status of the download, and it provides a toolbar for controlling the download.
To start downloading a site:
- Tap the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) text field.
- Enter an Internet address into the text field.
- Tap the go button on the keyboard and SiteSucker will go to work.
SiteSucker will accept any valid URL that begins with one of the following:
- http://
- https://
If you enter a URL that doesn't include "://", SiteSucker will automatically add "http://" to the beginning of the address.
To download a site that you recently downloaded:
- Tap the URL text field.
- Tap on one of the recently used URLs listed below the text field.
If the URL text field already contains the address of the site you want to download, just tap 
to start the download.
To submit forms or to navigate to a particular webpage before starting the download, SiteSucker provides a web browser. (See Web Browser below for more information.) To display a webpage using the web browser:
- Enter an Internet address into the text field.
- Tap the Browser button in the toolbar above the keyboard.
To display a previously downloaded site in the browser, touch and hold one of the recently used URLs listed below the text field.
Web Browser
You can use the web browser to submit forms (including logins to password-protected sites) or to navigate to a particular webpage before starting the download.
Just like any other web browser, you can open other pages by clicking on links.
To move through your history, click the Back (
) and Forward (
) buttons.
When the page you want to download is displayed, click to start the download. Please note that only webpages can be downloaded from the web browser.
Status Indicators
SiteSucker shows the status of the download in the SiteSucker screen.
SiteSucker includes the following status indicators:
Level
This is the number of levels deep the download has progressed. Levels refer to the number of link levels completed relative to the initial link. The URL that was entered to start the download is on level 1. If that page contained 10 URLs, those 10 links would be on level 2. If each of those 10 webpages contained 15 URLs, then those 150 links would be on level 3, and so on. This indicator shows which level SiteSucker is currently working on.
Files Downloaded
This is the number of files that have been downloaded.
Files Remaining
This is the number of files remaining to be downloaded. Each page that is downloaded is scanned for more HTML links. Any new links found are added to the counter. Note that the counter can decrease and then increase again after each new page is scanned. In addition, some links may be skipped because the page has already been downloaded or shouldn't be downloaded according to the Settings. Unfortunately, this means that it is very difficult to tell when the download will be complete. This indicator merely provides a rough estimate of progress.
Errors
This is the number of errors that have occurred during the download. If the Log Errors option is turned on, SiteSucker will write the errors to the SiteSucker.log file.
Status
During the download, status messages are displayed in the SiteSucker screen for each file being processed. SiteSucker indicates which files are being downloaded, which files are being analyzed for links, and how much progress has been made. SiteSucker can download multiple files simultaneously.
Skip Buttons
You can click a Skip button (
) in the SiteSucker screen to skip downloading an individual file.
Toolbar
When downloading, SiteSucker displays a toolbar that includes the following buttons:
