Getting StartedThe SiteSucker window shows the Web URL (Uniform Resource Locator) being downloaded, the current status of the download, and the toolbar. To get a download going, follow these steps:
SiteSucker will download the page, scan it for any links, and download the links. |

The status of the download appears in the lower section of the SiteSucker window. When files are downloaded, they are saved by default in the Downloads folder in the user's home directory. To change this, use the Download Folder control under the General tab in the Download Settings dialog. To download a site so that you can view it locally, set the "HTML Processing" option to Localize under the General tab in the Download Settings dialog. See Solving Problems for more information. To download multiple sites, you can open multiple SiteSucker windows or queue up downloads within a window. SiteSucker lets you save all the information about a download (including the Web URL, download settings, and queue) in a document. This allows you to create a document that you can use to perform the same download whenever you want. If SiteSucker is in the middle of a download when you choose the Save command, SiteSucker will pause the download and save its status with the document. When you open the document later, you can restart the download from where it left off by pressing the Resume button. |
