The General tab in the Download Settings dialog provides the following settings: Suppress Login DialogWhenever SiteSucker encounters a page that requires authentication, it first looks for the appropriate credentials in the Keychain. If nothing is found in the Keychain, it displays the Login Dialog. Check this box to suppress display of the Login Dialog and skip the download of any pages that require authentication. For more information on authentication, see Password-protected Sites. Ignore Robot ExclusionsCheck this box to have SiteSucker ignore robots.txt exclusions and the Robots META tag. Warning: Ignoring robot exclusions is not recommended. Robot exclusions are usually put in place for a good reason and should be obeyed. By default, SiteSucker honors robots.txt exclusions and the Robots META tag. The robots.txt file allows the Web site administrator to define what parts of a site are off-limits to specific robots, like SiteSucker. Web administrators can disallow access to cgi and private and temporary directories, for example, because they do not want pages in those areas downloaded. In addition to server-wide robot control using robots.txt, Web page creators can also use the Robots META tag to specify that the links on a page should not be followed by robots. Drag Triggers DownloadCheck this box to have SiteSucker automatically start the download after you drag a URL into the Web URL text field. Append "html" ExtensionCheck this box to have SiteSucker append an "html" file extension to downloaded HTML files that lack an "html" or "htm" file extension. This option ensures that these files are displayed correctly when opened in a Web browser. Replace FilesUse this control to specify when SiteSucker should replace existing files. You can choose from the following options:
Note: SiteSucker will replace existing HTML and CSS files regardless of the Replace Files setting if the files have been localized or if the files have not been localized and HTML Processing is set to Localize. HTML ProcessingUse this control to specify how SiteSucker should process HTML files after they are downloaded. You can choose from the following options:
Download OptionUse this control to limit downloaded files to those at a specific site, those within a specific directory, or those containing a specific path. This option works in conjunction with the Paths settings. SiteSucker provides the following download options:
Download FolderUse this control to select the local Download Folder where files will be saved. By default, SiteSucker saves files to the Downloads folder in the user's home directory under Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) or to the desktop under Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger). To change the Download Folder, do the following:
If you select the Ask Before Downloading menu item, SiteSucker will let you choose the Download Folder when you start a download. |
