Preferences

The Preferences window lets you customize the Bank Check Printer application. Specifically, it allows you to adjust the positioning of printed fields on checks. If the default layout is not appropriate for your checks, the Bank Check Printer preferences lets you change it.

Preferences

The best way to use the Preferences window is to scan your sheet of checks, then use the scanned image as the window's background image. Click the Change Image button to set the window's background image. Bank Check Printer fields can then be adjusted until they align with fields on the image.

Your scanned image can be a tiff, png, jpeg, or gif. The image size should be 612 by 792 pixels. If the image is not the correct size, Bank Check Printer will resize it.

The easiest way to position a field in the window is to drag it where you want it. Once you have clicked on a field to select it, you can use the arrow keys to adjust its position. In addition, the text boxes at the bottom of the window let you change the x and y position and width of the selected field.

To restore the default field positions and default background image, click the Use Defaults button.

Presets

Bank Check Printer allows you to create presets for different types of checks. Each preset can have its own background image and field positions. To add, remove, or rename presets, click on the popup button and choose Edit Presets in the menu. This will display the Presets sheet.

Presets

To add a preset, click the add (+) button. This will create a new preset with the default field positions and default background image.

To remove one or more existing presets, select them in the list and click the delete (-) button. If all presets are selected, the delete button is disabled because at least one preset is required.

To rename a preset, double-click on its name in the list, enter a new name, and press the return key.

When you are finished editing the presets, click the Done button to close the Presets sheet.

To use a particular preset for printing, click on the popup button and choose its name in the menu.
